The IIT vs IIM Cricket Match 2014

It was a great game of cricket. 

A hard fought battle between two equally matched teams. 

Team IIM won the toss and chose to bat, putting up a competitive total  102/7 in 15 overs. 

 

The team looked to score more after a brilliant start by Avinash and Kalai ( who was the highest scorer for the team - 28) after being stopped by a brilliant spell by Gopal who took 3 wickets for just 16 runs in 3 overs.Team IIM's innings got another boost after a quick pace knock by Vasudev Kataria scoring 24 off 15 balls. Hatim, priyank, Yogesh, Niket , Vishal and Siddhartha chipped in with useful contribution 

 

Team IIT got off to a slow start, losing few early wickets. A superb unbeaten partnership b/w Rakesh (29 not out) and Srinivas(21 not out) of more than 50 runs ensured the team cruise through without further hiccups. Gopal, Anis,Aakash, Rammohan and Sankalp chipped in with useful contribution towards the total.The second highest scorer of the game was WIDES :) 

 

A little more control by team IIM would have made the match even more interesting

Nonetheless it was a well fought competition .
